it’s not bad but missing a vital point that voids it all. a plugin hybrid is not substantially more expensive than a prius to make. they both have overweight steel bodies, both have combustion engines and the plugin can even have a much smaller engine, both have two electric motor/generators, both have a battery pack. both have governinging electronics. the only difference is that the plugin needs 20+ mile pack. let’s say 30mile range in a 6000$ pack. 40k$ is lie. all their cars should be plugin

If GM wants to get out of bankruptcy, shouldn’t their focus be on building cars customers want to buy?
I’m sure there is a market for fuel efficient cars, but that shouldn’t be their only or primary focus.

most EU cars are small compared to US cars because there is limited space on the road and people have no need for fantastically over sized cars i came to NY last january and was suprised by the fact that the Cabs were almos twice the size of the london Taxis but yet felt like the same space inside. most places in central Europe have towns were people have no need for cars and all they need is in their village i wish the UK was more like this.

1) GM sold Saturn to Penske, so the Vue EV will still be coming, just from someone else.
2) The Camaro uses the same engine in mid-size cars, and considering that most drivers will use it infrequently, the drop in mileage vs small cars will be negligible.
I think cars in general are at the very nascent stages of transforming into recreational devices (NOT NEEDED), especially in urban centres. I live in Toronto, a city with an extensive transit network, and don’t drive at all.
