GM should not … GM should not receive another dime of bailout money, not until they pay their workers a fair wage. GM is in the toilet because of their inmoral and greedy business practices. Have we not learned our lesson of worker exploitation from the Industrial Revolution. Government should stop giving GM tax breaks just so they can send jobs overseas. This was the biggest mistake of Bush and Obama presidencies. Pope Leo XIII addressed this problem in the encyclical Rerum Novarum.
Rather that than … Rather that than some 10-year old vietnamese boy putting it together for 75 cents a day in a sweatshop. What bankrupted GM is their corporate greed. When GM decided to put their profits ahead of their workers, they started going downhill. The UAW needs to stand up against the greedhead board members at GM. The UAW stands up for the poor and middle class, unlike GM, Chrysler, AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. GM should receive no bailout money due to their greedy practices.
The UAW have milked … The UAW have milked the cow so much that there was nothing left…and Obama rewarded the UAW to partly own GM with the gov’t and sacrificed the workers.
But is it too … But is it too little too late? Alot of people that were burned won’t buy another Ford. I know that Toyota has had their share of bad cars too but I drive 95 Camry that doesn’t have any rust, 150,000 and it rides like a dream. Have a good day.
Ford is making some … Ford is making some good cars these days.
I mean seriously, they’re tied im quality with Toyota and they have the most 5 star ratings than any other manufacturer (they own Volvo and use some of their cars chassis).
GM used to have a … GM used to have a good car. I wonder what happened. Ford had junk and they were called Fix Or Repair Daily. It’s a shame that GM, Chrysler, or Ford think we should buy their crappy cars at higher prices. Shame on them!!!
“Before you yell ‘ … “Before you yell ‘conspiracy theorist’ at me…”
Consp–… damn. Seriously, Obama DOESN’T want the government to run car companies and banks.
GM probably should have been allowed to fail, but the government HAD to intervene with the banks because banking crises have the potential to destroy economies.
Healthcare SHOULD be run by government bureaucrats (better than HMO bureaucrats who make more money if you get less care).
I’m 100% with you regarding the lack of transparency.
To use your own … To use your own words, “Do you even understand what’s going on?”
Government controlled manufacturing, banking, and healthcare. Tighter regulations on our 2nd amendment rights, and apparently the same lack of transparency as the old administration in this new ‘transparent’ administration.
Before you yell ‘conspiracy theorist’ at me, I’m not for laissez-faire capitalism, but I’m sure not for socialism or fascism either. We’re moving towards the later w/ BO more than the frmr with GWB.
Yeah, 60% is the … Yeah, 60% is the same as 100% is the same as 51%.
But who’s counting?? The important thing is that the government is moving forward with its play to take control of private industry! I’m sure Obama’s administration is so excited to in control of a failed albatross like GM!
BTW, thanks, HTWW, for keeping negative comments up here. I was probably wrong to think you were some charlatan in the mold of a Sean Hannity.
But you do still remind me of him in the way you put forth your ideas.
Way to catch that … Way to catch that slip of the tongue!
No, the government is ‘only’ going to own 60% of it. The majority share, so they can appoint the majority of members to the board of directors and simply CONTROL General Motors. Yeah, that’s a big difference from entirely owning it…wait, actually it isn’t.
